Effects of High Uric Acid & GOUT -Reasons,Prevention,Ways to control(100 % controllable),Diet

Uric acid is a waste product from the metabolism of proteins. As proteins are metabolized, nitrogen is removed as a by-product. However, nitrogen is toxic to the body, so it is synthesized into uric acid and sent to the kidneys for filtration and excretion through the urine. High content of uric acid in the body, or hyperuremia, is a sign that kidneys are not functioning properly.
Gout is a very painful form of arthritis that mainly attacks the joints of the big toes in men but it also affects women in the same way and can sometimes attack other joints such as the fingers, the knee, the wrists, the ankles and the elbows. Unlike other forms of arthritis, gout is 100% controllable if you understand the right foods to eat and take the right over the counter supplements.
Uric acid is then carried by the blood to the kidneys and passed out of the body in the form of urine. However, when this process of eliminating uric acid from the body does not take place efficiently, it leads to an increased level of uric acid in the blood. There are two main factors that lead to the inefficient elimination of uric acid from the body: a high intake of purine rich food that leads to the excess production of uric acid in the body and a reduction of excretion of uric acid through urine that occurs due to kidney problems. Most people experiencing high levels of uric acid also complain of gout problems, kidney stones and in serious cases kidney failure. In some cases, uric acid levels also increase as a symptom prior to the onset of conditions such as heart diseases and high blood pressure.

It is therefore necessary to visit your doctor before undertaking home remedies.

  • The most effective way of controlling uric acid levels is by consuming a diet low in purine. Red meats, sweetbreads, canned liver, canned seafood and lentils are rich sources of purine and should be avoided as far as possible.
  • A person experiencing high uric acid levels should drink at least 4 liters of water daily. This will ensure that uric acid is transported out of the body efficiently when urine is passed.
  • You can drink black cherry juice daily to keep your uric acid level in check. You may also consume jams or jellies made from black cherry. However, the best way of consuming it would be by eating the fruit, as this makes sure that its nutritive value is intact.
  • You can also start your day by drinking lemon juice, as lemon juice hydrates the body and breaks down uric acid effectively.
  • You can also control the level of uric acid by increasing your dietary intake of garlic and saffron.
  • Additionally, bananas and apples have also proved beneficial in the treatment of gout. Consuming the same on a daily basis will prove beneficial in treating your condition.
  • Avoid alcohol consumption to lower uric acid. Large amounts of alcohol, especially beer and wine, both rich in purines, increase uric acid levels
  • Increase your dairy intake to lower your uric acid level. Low fat milk, yogurt and cheese are examples of dairy products considered helpful to gout sufferers
