Ganesha Chaturthi Details
Ganesha Chaturthi (Devanagari: गणेश चतुर्थी, Kannada: ಗನೆಶ ಚತುರ್ಥೀ), also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi is the Hindu festival of Ganesha, the son of Shiva and Parvati, who is believed to bestow his presence on earth for all his devotees in the duration of this festival. It is the birthday of Ganesha who is widely worshipped as the god of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune.
The festival is observed in the Hindu calendar month of Bhaadrapada, starting on the shukla chaturthi (fourth day of the waxing moon period). The date usually falls between 20 August and 15 September. The festival lasts for 10 days, ending on Anant Chaturdashi (fourteenth day of the waxing moon period).

Two to three months prior to Ganesh Chaturthi, artistic clay models of Lord Ganesha are made for sale by specially skilled artisans. They are beautifully decorated & depict Lord Ganesh in various poses. The size of these statues may vary from 3/4th of an inch to over 25 feet.


Ganesh Chaturthi starts with the installation of these Ganesh statues in colorfully decorated homes and specially erected temporary structures mandapas (pandals) in every locality. The pandals are erected by the people or a specific society or locality or group by collecting monetary contributions. The mandapas are decorated specially for the festival, either by using decorative items like flower garlands, lights, etc. or are theme based decorations, which depict religious themes or current events.

Audi reveals New Urban Concept car which will be on the display at Frankfurt motor show in September 2011.
Audi Urban Concept have so far shown through some vague sketches. Although it doesn't bear the name, the Urban Concept is technically part of Audi's e-tron electric vehicle programme, drawing power from two electric motors.

This Car is basically a concept made from carbon fiber rainforced polymer which integrates the undercarriage of both seats. it's been built as an exemplar of the manufacturer's ultra-lightweight philosophy, which sees every ounce of unnecessary mass removed. Which explains why the entire monocoquepit's made from carbon fibre-reinforced polymer.


What is Carbon fiber rainforced polymer ?
Carbon-fiber-reinforced polymer or carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP or CRP), is a very strong and light fiber-reinforced polymer which contains carbon fibers. The polymer is most often epoxy, but other polymers, such as polyester, vinyl ester or nylon, are sometimes used. The composite may contain other fibers such as Kevlar, aluminium, glass fibers as well as carbon fiber.

Car's Interior
In the cabin, driver and passenger seats are molded into the body, and the driver can adjust the pedal and steering wheel positions to suit.


As for the oddly-spaced Caparo T1-like seats, Audi says the intent there is to ensure that both occupants are afforded plenty of space while giving the vehicle.

According to U.K. magazine Autocar, the Urban Concepts use a 15kW electric motor and lithium ion battery pack, and Audi claims a top speed of 62mph, with range of only 37 miles - so the concepts really are meant exclusively for an urban environment.

Government agrees to Anna's 3 key demands, Anna hazare Fast will end on 28th August 2011 at 10 am, Indian Parliament passes resolution on Lokpal Bill


New Delhi: The eight-hour long extraordinary debate on the Lokpal issue Saturday ended with Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee expressing “a broad sense of the house” that includes an in-principle acceptance of three key demands of Anna Hazare by the Lok Sabha.

There was, however, neither any resolution nor a voice vote that was expected at the end of the debate, just desk-thumping by members drawn from all parties.

These included an agreement on the citizens' charter, the bringing of the lower bureaucracy under the Lokpal and the setting up of Lokayuktas in the state.

Mukherjee, also leader of the house, made it clear that the outcome of the proceedings will be submitted to the parliamentary standing committee examining the Lokpal bill. The standing committee will bring a revised legislation to the house, he said.

IIT-Kgp student refuses to accept degree from PM, IIT Kharagpur student backs Anna, refuses degree, Shashi Shankar Refuses To Accept Degree From PM


Shashi Shekhar, a civil engineering student has refused to accept his degree from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh while another will wear a Anna cap at the convocation where the Prime Minister is the chief guest as he is not in favour of a strong Lokpal.
"I will not accept my degree from the Prime Minister. I will accept it from someone who supports the Jan Lokpal Bill," says Shashi Shekhar.
Another student and M Tech in Electronics, Chandra Kumar Patel, has chosen to wear a Anna cap instead of the traditional convocation cap when he goes to accept his degree from the Prime Minister.
A group of IIT Kharagpur students are also sitting on fast in support of Hazare.

CAT Common Admission Test is an Entrance Exam conducted by IIM’s for admission into IIM’s and many other top MBA Colleges and Institutes in India.

CAT 2011 will be conducted online through different centres across India in 20-day testing window between 22 October 2011(Saturday) - 18 November 2011(Friday).

This year CAT will have only two sections instead of three. The first section will focus on Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation; the second on Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning. These two sections will be implemented sequentially with separate time limits. Length of the examination will be 140 minutes. Candidates will have 70 minutes to answer 30 questions within each section which will have an on-screen countdown timer. Once the time ends for the first section, they will move to the second and will no longer be able to go back.

Total duration:- 2 hours and 35 minutes(including tutorial)
